The firm was established in February 2007 by Alfredo Benjamin S. Caguioa, Jaime Renato B. Gatmaytan, Ben Dominic R. Yap, Norma Margarita B. Patacsil, Anthony Mark A. Gutierrez and Jesus Paolo U. Protacio. It was formerly known as Caguioa & Gatmaytan, however there was a change of name resulting from Mr. Caguioa’s withdrawal from the firm in January 2013 following his appointment as Chief Presidential Legal Counsel and subsequently as Secretary of the Department of Justice. Mr. Caguioa was appointed as an Associate Justice of the Philippine Supreme Court in January 2016.
The firm’s current partners are Jaime Renato B. Gatmaytan, Ben Dominic R. Yap, Norma Margarita B. Patacsil, Anthony Mark A. Gutierrez, Jesus Paolo U. Protacio, Cesar E. Santamaria, Jr., Mary Thel T. Mundin, Albert V. Yu Chang, Jess Raymund M. Lopez, Vladi Miguel S. Lazaro, Kristine Ninotschka L. Evangelista, Deborah Miriam D. Sobrepeña-Lacson, Roxanne B. Tadique-Fajardo, Andrea E. Katipunan-Leido, Sophia P. Inoturan and Katrine Paula V. Suyat-Antonio. The firm has developed from strength to strength; today, it has more than 70 fee earners and is still rapidly growing.
